DOES YOUR BODY PROTECT YOUR VOICE?

Is your biology working against your artistry? Common signs your nervous system is stuck in a protective loop: The Effort Gap: Every note feels like a physical battle rather than an opening of sound. The Control Trap: You feel like you’re trying too hard, but if you stop, you’re scared you’ll lose control. The Physical "Ache": Your throat feels tight, fatigued, or even painful after a performance. The Silent Guard: You know what you want to do artistically, but your body isn't taking the instruction. These aren’t technical failures; they are survival reflexes. And reflexes can be reset.

WHY YOU CAN’T "PRACTICE" YOUR WAY OUT OF TENSION

You can have world-class technique, but if your nervous system is in "Survival Mode," your body will always prioritize protection over artistry. This is why adding more "support" or "anchoring" often makes tension worse. You aren't lacking discipline; you're lacking a reset. This protocol treats the loop between your mind and your muscles, making freedom your new default state.

Phase 1: REGULATE (The Foundation)

Before we touch the muscles, we settle the nervous system. We use simple, science-backed practices to signal "safety" to your brain, so your body stops bracing for impact.

Phase 2: RELEASE (The Physical Shift)

Once the system is calm, we target the physical "locks." Using somatic and myofascial release, we unwind the deep tension in your jaw, neck (SCM), and tongue root to create the space your voice needs to move.

Phase 3: REBUILD (The New Baseline)

We integrate your vocal technique onto this new foundation of freedom. Your sound becomes reliable, resonant, and effortless, even under the high pressure of the stage.

YOUR STEP-BY-STEP PROTOCOL

-14 Daily Lab Sessions: 20–30 minute guided videos that remove the guesswork. I lead you through every regulation and release move in real-time. -The Somatic Workbook: Prompts designed to help you map your specific tension triggers and integrate these shifts into your professional baseline. -Daily Release Notes: Scientific insights translated into practical steps to keep you motivated and informed throughout the 14 days.

THE 14-DAY PATH TO FREEDOM

Phase 1: Regulate (The Security Reset) We start by signaling "safety" to your nervous system. Before we touch the muscles, we stop the survival response that causes your body to brace for impact. You’ll replace pressure with a calm, grounded baseline. Phase 2: Release (The Physical Unlock) We target the physical "brakes", the chronic tension in the jaw, neck (SCM), and tongue root. Using myofascial and somatic release, we clear out years of guarding patterns to give your voice the physical room it needs to bloom. Phase 3: Rebuild (The New Foundation) We integrate your technique onto an open, reliable instrument. This isn't about "doing" more; it's about allowing your resonance to show up without interference. You leave with a repeatable pathway to vocal trust.

WHY YOUR VOICE "LOCKS" (EVEN WITH GOOD TECHNIQUE)

As a scientist, I see it every day: singers trying to fix a neurological problem with a technical solution. If your brain perceives a threat, like a high-stakes audition or a "scary" high note, it bypasses your training and triggers a Survival Loop. It will tighten your jaw and squeeze your throat to protect you. Adding more "support" or "anchoring" to a guarded body just reinforces the fight. This reset works because it stops the loop, making freedom your body's new default setting.

MEET THE SOMATIC SCIENTIST

Dominique Christine (MSc) is a Biomedical Scientist and a London-trained performer who has helped over 300+ singers move from "protection" to "performance." By bridging her background in Reproductive Biology and Immunology with the grit of the professional theatre industry, she developed the RELEASE Protocol. She doesn't just teach you how to sing; she teaches you how to master the biology of your instrument.

SUCCES STORIES

What happens when singers stop fighting their bodies and start mastering their biology.

I have discovered tension in spots that I would have never considered like my sternum. I have also been working out lately and I know that it can lead to more tension, but staying consistent with the release routines I haven’t had any issue.

So RELEASE has brought a way of working on my voice that is very important to me. It has brought just that…a release. With its strategies, I am beginning to let go. With careful and paced practice, I am gradually beginning to see ways to relax tension in my body and voice and gain confidence to work on harmonies and trust what I hear. I am therefore thoroughly grateful that RELEASE has made reconnect to the passion I have always felt for the written and spoken word - and now, for singing. This brings me immense joy and I hope with it the power that I seek to be and express my true self. I would recommend RELEASE for mind, body and soul.

Dominique's Release Course is the first tool I've truly noticed making a difference. She guides you through a process, step by step, in which you can learn to relax your nervous system and muscles and therefore your instrument. At a pleasant pace she takes you on this journey, without any judgement. In the short time I've been following the course, I've noticed that my voice already feels so much more relaxed, sounds better en I feel less stress in general.

I want to learn to really release and let go. Experience true vocal freedom, and to be proud of myself and to share it with the world. I’ve just started but already after module 1 I feel more freedom. I can’t wait what the end result will feel and sound like!

My biggest wish is not just to “sing better,” but to feel seen and understood in my own timeline. After starting to work with tension release, I already noticed a real shift: during a performance I felt so much safer and freer than before. That was a completely new and encouraging experience for me. Because working with my voice is also part of reclaiming space. It feels like a way back to myself. And having someone who not just have a look on the vocal technique but also helps to work on the ability showing up authentically is just heart-warming.

IS THE 14-DAY RESET YOUR NEXT STEP?

This protocol is designed for you if: -You feel your voice "guarding" or tightening the moment you walk into a high-stakes room. -You’ve reached a plateau with traditional technique and suspect your body is physically blocking your progress. -You want a structured, science-backed pathway to stop the "tug-of-war" with your jaw and neck. This is likely not for you if: -You are looking for a "quick hack" that bypasses the biology of the body. -You aren't ready to slow down and look at the nervous system's role in your sound.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much time do I need each day? The protocol is designed for the professional schedule. Each guided session is 20–30 minutes, allowing you to integrate these biological shifts without overwhelming your day. Do I need special equipment? No. While a myofascial release ball is helpful, it’s not required. In Week 2, we use medical gloves for intra-oral work, a standard clinical practice to safely release the deep muscles of the jaw and tongue root. Will this replace my vocal technique lessons? No, it optimizes them. Think of this as a "software update" for your instrument. By clearing the physical and neurological interference first, your vocal technique can actually function at 100%. What if I feel emotional during the reset? This is a physiological response. When we release chronic tension (especially in the jaw and throat), the nervous system often processes stored stress as grief, relief, or tenderness. This is a sign of a successful reset, not a sign that you are "broken." How long do I have access? You have lifetime access. You can return to this protocol whenever you have a high-stakes audition, a period of heavy performance, or a high-stress season that triggers your guarding reflexes. I’m a Musical Theatre performer, is this for me? Specifically, yes. MT performers face unique cortisol spikes due to the "triple threat" nature of the work. This protocol is designed to help you maintain a free, reliable voice even when your nervous system is in a high-pressure, "performance-mode" state.

FROM PROTECTION TO PERFORMANCE

Your voice isn’t something you have to "fix, it’s a biological system you get to master. If you are ready to stop pushing and start singing from a body that is truly open, I will guide you through the next 14 days. Let’s stop the survival response and start the m usic.
